Purposes
To function as a local community hub, focused on supporting disadvantaged members of the community and on environmental issues, specifically by acting:
To relieve poverty for the benefit of low income/no income people in the local community by providing recycled items (including clothing, and household items at low or no cost.)
To provide immediate aid in the form of household goods and other necessities to people within the local community impacted by some sort of emergency disaster.
To provide job readiness and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and those facing barriers to employment.
To advance educational opportunities in environmental and social welfare studies for high school students in the form of postsecondary education scholarships.
To advance educational opportunities and literacy by providing free books to members of the local community.
To provide community service opportunities for high school students and those referred from the justice system in the form of work supporting our charity shop.
To protect the environment by redirecting items destined for landfill.
To protect the environment by providing education materials and social media tips on way of implementing reduction, reuse and recycling and the consequential benefits.
